Urban Development

LINK's urban planners and spatial planners have solid early-stage expertise and extensive experience in creating suitable urban spaces that promote inclusion in society. We lay the foundations for sustainable urban planning measures with a strong ambition to help carry the green shift.

In the Hammarkulletorget project, we have worked with a clear structure, focus on safety and a flexible content. The ambition has been to create societal benefits, commercial value and quality of life for each individual, through participatory processes, local roots and the area's history. A sustainable city must represent the existing and make allowance for what is to come – for a future in the green shift. A robust urban environment facilitates population growth and balances buildings and green urban spaces, between people and technology, in a well-functioning infrastructure.

Early phase competence

As urban planners and urban planners, we can help make a real difference. A sustainable urban planning approach can constitute much more for the environmental accounts than the choice of materials in a later development phase. We work integrated with all dimensions of the concept of sustainability, and we use innovative tools to identify the highest environmental ambitions in any project.

A holistic societal perspective

A holistic perspective is critical to ensure environmental sustainability that can provide economic growth and ensure social inclusion. We have a particular focus on how to plan to create safe places that are attractive to all users. The ambition is to reduce crime and increase security in cities by working purposefully with the city's physical design. In this picture, our mobility choices, where we meet in everyday life, and environmentally friendly real estate and business development are an essential part of the whole.

The process of urban development

The optimal opportunity for a place is defined through holistic development processes that embrace advice, management, analysis, and conceptualization.

Advice

We provide advice at an early stage and lead the projects throughout the process to a fully developed site. Our interdisciplinary teams and approach are about understanding local conditions such as building blocks for belonging, unity, and identity. We constantly tailor a group that meets the customer's specific needs.

Process management

In our process management, we use working methods that give concrete results. We lead the vision work with relevant resources and ensure that the project develops in the right direction. LINK has, with great success, used various methods to open up the creative process and engage groups in identifying visions and goals together. Close dialogue with residents, neighbours, companies, and other stakeholders, ensure involvement and commitment. Through active interaction processes, we can find unique growth potential.

Analysis

In the planning phase, we carry out extensive mapping that serves as a support for strategic choices. The analysis describes the area's current situation and provides a basis for defining opportunities for the site. We analyse traffic, geography, geology, and demographic patterns on site. The analyses lay the foundations for the programming of the place to achieve functional environments that provide a good quality of life - which are inspiring and safe to travel in.

Conceptualization

We compile and illustrate basic thoughts and ideas about core values and principles, analysis and concept work, volume studies, and feasibility studies. We define success factors and outline and conceptualize the project to achieve the best possible results. With that as a starting point, we can develop places that stand out with solid self-character and attractiveness.
