Bruparken
Playground for everyone on wheels
Under a motorway bridge for E18 in Drammen, a sheltered activity park has been laid out, with opportunities for skating and hockey, as well as sensory experiences with sounds and water.
The intention of the programming of activities in the park was to turn what was originally an uninviting rest area, into something positive a meeting place for the joy of the city. Existing walkways along the river and through the city are connected to the park, making the park a natural part of the urban fabric. The result is an inviting and beloved outdoor space, an activity and experience park, which plays on challenging play, sound, light, and time.
Skate park, skate bowl, outdoor stage, and hockey rink attracts a versatile use for many segments of the city's population. Towards the river, there is a fountain with jets of water encouraging playtime for the younger children. Three works of art are vibrant attractions in the facility, the characteristic listening rings have captivated many wondering and curious souls.
