A new landmark for Drottninghög
Drottninghög, just 15 minutes by bike from Helsingborg's centre, is transforming significantly. The district is becoming safer and more connected with improvements to public transport, green areas, and refurbishments. As part of the H22 city expo, 3Hus and LINK Arkitektur designed a new landmark focused on social and ecological sustainability, with early input from the municipality.
The 8,000-square-meter building includes condos and public spaces, aiming to attract a diverse demographic. Its monolithic design, featuring balconies and bay windows, creates dynamic variation while complementing the neighbourhood's identity. A communal roof terrace and street-level public library encourage interaction and contribute to a vibrant urban space.
With human-scale design, tactile materials, and a gradual rise from 3 to 16 floors, the building offers a mix of private and public spaces, fostering inclusivity and community. Facades with large ground-floor windows create transparency, while brick exteriors pay homage to local architecture, blending modern living with traditional materials.
