New National Hospital in Oslo, Rikshospitalet
Modern hospital designed for future-orientated and effective diagnostics and patient care
Helse Sør-Øst RHF opted for detailed design and follow-up in the construction phase of the New National Hospital in Oslo. The new National Hospital will bring together regional and national care as well as provide local hospital services for approximately 200,000 patients.
The new National Hospital brings together both regional and national specialist treatment facilities. The hospital has also been designed to provide local hospital services for around 200,000 inhabitants as well as for all children and young people in Oslo under the age of 18 with somatic illnesses. The hospital has been designed with a large, modern accident and emergency facility which will also accommodate a regional trauma centre. The hospital will further offer a combined children’s and youth centre, including a separate accident and emergency department for children and young people.
Emphasis has been placed on fulfilling Helse Sør-Øst's sustainable goals and facilitating the future development of the hospital with flexibility and expansion possibilities in a long-term perspective.
- We look forward to many years of good cooperation where we will contribute with our specialist expertise in developing a well-functioning, health-promoting hospital with architectural qualities. We want to emphasize that this shall be a good place to work, and that it will provide a good framework for patients and relatives, says Arnstein Sande, Manager Hospitals in LINK Arkitektur.
