Drammen hospital
A healing building
The new hospital in Drammen will be a complete emergency hospital with elective and acute somatic and psychiatric functions. The hospital is part of future urban development in the Lierbyen project.
The new hospital replaces the current Drammen hospital and Blakstad hospital and is being built on Brakerøya on a former industrial site bordering the Drammenselva and the fjord. The hospital's goal is to offer functional, patient-friendly, and economical solutions. The entire planning area is located in Drammen and Lier municipality and is part of the Fjordbyen project.
The facility is divided into buildings by function: treatment buildings for somatics and outpatient buildings for somatics, bed areas for somatics, psychiatric day units, access with common functions, and service buildings. The new local hospital on Brakerøya provides Lier, Drammen, Nedre Eiker, Røyken, Hurum, Sande and Svelvik, with area functions for the entire Vestre Viken.
The hospital will be built according to the passive house standard with an energy rating A and we are actively working on solutions that provide good environmental qualities and reduce the climate footprint. With material selection and conscious design, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from early detailed projects to As-built will be shown. Greenhouse gas accounts must be submitted for the entire construction project and an environmental declaration must be available for the 10 most used materials. Constructions and solutions must have the lowest possible amounts of material. A minimum of 80% of construction waste must be sorted at the source for reuse or recycling. In the event of demolition, 95% of weight of waste must be reusable or recyclable.
