Construction City
The construction industry's new home
In a light Nordic style, Norway's largest competence center for the construction, civil engineering, and real estate industry will be established in the Construction City project.
The Construction City project has ambitions to become one of the world's leading business clusters in the construction, real estate, and real estate industry. The concept of the office building is based on the idea of a facility with a high degree of flexibility and unique interaction arenas both internally and across the tenants. The purpose is to streamline the construction industry's project and construction processes and raise competence in the industry through increased collaboration. The commercial building will house up to 5,000 jobs from a number of different players in the construction, civil engineering and real estate industry: builders/developers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, equipment and infrastructure manufacturers, investors, academia and public authorities.
The material palette and volume construction are inspired by the Nordic region, with a focus on the use of wood in surfaces and large bright areas, in addition to generous ceiling height and large window surfaces. A good structural framework facilitates a high degree of flexibility, varied tenant needs, and robustness to handle developments in the workplace of the future.
The project has ambitions to achieve BREEAM Excellent. Other focus areas are reuse and recycling.
