Construction City

The Future of Construction

Construction City is an innovation cluster with a mission to drive collaboration and new solutions in the construction industry. The material palette and volume construction are inspired by the Nordic region, with a focus on the use of wood in surfaces and large bright areas, in addition to generous ceiling height and large window surfaces.

The commercial building will accommodate up to 5,000 jobs from the entire value chain from promising startups to major entrepreneurs. The building will be a cross-sectorial hub where different players in the construction industry can meet to share insights, collaborate on projects and lift the industry’s competitiveness.

A good structural framework facilitates a high degree of flexibility, varied tenant needs, and robustness to handle developments in the workplace of the future.

A BREEAM Excellent Project

As a leading competence center, Construction City is designed to meet high sustainability standards. The project is BREEAM Excellent certified, emphasizing circular material flows, energy efficiency, and long-term resilience.

A Transformational Impact on the Area

Construction City will be a landmark in Oslo, contributing to the development of the Ulven district. The building’s relationship with the surrounding streets and urban life has been carefully considered to create an inviting and vibrant business environment. As Ulven continues to evolve, Construction City will play an increasingly significant role in shaping the cityscape—an arena for forward-thinking innovation and sustainable development.

The material palette and spatial design are rooted in the Nordic DNA, featuring wood in surfaces and large, bright spaces, along with generous ceiling heights and expansive windows. The use of wood softens the interior and brings a touch of nature inside. As a material, wood possesses both aesthetic and functional qualities. Additionally, it is a sustainable material with a long lifespan.
