Eldoradogården
From Cinema Hall to Contemporary Workplace
Located in the heart of Bergen, Eldoradogården is a historic building currently undergoing a comprehensive rehabilitation and transformation. Once home to the iconic Eldorado cinema—where locals gathered to watch American western films—the building is now being redeveloped into a modern and sustainable office building with restaurants, fitness facilities, and flexible workspaces.
Eldoradogården is being revitalized as a modern office building with restaurants at the ground floor.
Originally constructed around 1860 by Bergen Arbeidersamfunn as the city’s first large concert and assembly hall, the building was expanded in the 1880s with shops at street level and hotel and guesthouse functions above. Throughout the early 20th century, it became known as Eldorado Cinema, seating around 700 guests.
The rehabilitation project preserves the building’s historical character while upgrading it to meet modern standards for quality, energy performance, and environmental sustainability. The building is being developed to achieve BREEAM Very Good certification.
When completed, Eldoradogården will become a vibrant meeting place in Bergen city centre—combining historic character with contemporary workplaces and amenities.
