Det Nye Fyrkildevej

Health and activity in focus

New Fyrkildevej, which is part of the Kildeparken residential area in Aalborg, is undergoing a major transformation that will lead to significant improvement and diversification of the district. Situated in eastern Aalborg, close to hubs like the university and the future New Aalborg University Hospital, the area has great potential for development.

Starting with a new health centre and sports facilities in the area, which cater to a larger territory, there was a desire to enhance Fyrkildevej, making it a recognisable new neighbourhood with health and activity as unique focal points. The area plan involves a new street layout to create better coherency of the entire construction. The icing on the cake is the erection of commercial housing and a senior living community to add a rich selection of different housing types to the area.

A diverse neighbourhood

The design produces an open and welcoming residential area with brand new housing types. An area with distinct architectural characteristics and a focus on creating a beautiful and effective framework for life in the area. A diverse neighbourhood that will be attractive to both the existing residents, who already enjoy the area, but not least to the new residents.

The transformation of the residential area of Fyrkildevej in Aalborg is a textbook example of reforming architecture, where the entire architectural toolbox is put into use.
