Øvrevollkollen

Rural homes with panoramic views

Modern brick housing project in scenic areas at Øvrevoll in eastern Bærum.

Øvrevoll is centrally located to Eiksmarka, Jar, and Østerås and is an attractive and well-established residential area in Bærum. The unique thing about this housing project is the rural surroundings and at the same time the central location. Øvrevoll has its origins after the farm Vold, divided into Øvre and Nedre Vold in 1792. Øvre Vold was in 1809 magistrate's farm, later leased out and parceled out. Øvrevoll is best known for Øvrevoll Gallop Track, which is Norway's only gallop track, opened in 1932.

Øvrevollkollen is a three-story housing project spread over two contiguous buildings. The project has 15 spacious apartments with good ceiling height. There is a strong focus on views and patios, with aerial balconies to the east and large balconies and terraces on the opposite long side.

The building is established on a hill on the northeast side of the gallop track, and all apartments have glass fields from floor to ceiling in the west with panoramic views of the racetrack. The main material is brick from Danish Petersen brick, with elements of wood in the middle section and the two entrance sections. On the hill around the building, the focus is on outdoor spaces with trees, a play area, and small seating areas.
