150 residential units, 4,000 m2 of commercial space, parking and a marina is planned for the waterfront on “Mobergneset” at the centre of “Os”.
“Os” municipality is located south of Bergen and has 15,000 inhabitants. The area being developed is beautifully located at the waterfront and forms an extension of “Os” town-centre, with urban functions such as residential, commercial and cultural facilities.
The purpose of the zoning plan, was approved by Os municipal council in December 2008, is to arrange for a residential and commercial area close to the city centre, with an art and culture centre, a fishing harbour and a marina.
LINK arkitektur has been involved from the beginning, and has provided illustrations for the zoning plan Phase I construction is complete. Construction phase II is currently underway.
This project consists of 4 buildings and 84 apartments. These vary between two, three and 4-room apartments ranging from 47 to 151 m2.
The overall plan is to build around 150 apartments and 4,000 m2 of commercial space. To avoid street level parking, car parking is located underground.
The planning area is 56 decare, with approximately equal portions on land and on water after the planned landfill at “Mobergneset”. The zoning plan was prepared by Opus Bergen AS. Architect firms LINK arkitektur AS, Grieg Arkitekter AS and the landscape architects Smedsvig AS designed the project details. Rådgivende Biologer AS conducted an environmental impact assessment of the breakwater construction and land reclamation. Multiconsult conducted the noise studies and geological surveys.
