Office building of 4 floors. Energy class A.

Well located with respect to the city's main arteries, Tønsberg's newest office building, also called Vinkelbygget, features modern energy solutions that meet the most stringent environment classifications. The project has a modern expression with aluminium and plaster. It was necessary for LINK arkitektur to break up the 90-metre long façade along Kjelleveien. The second and third floors are drawn out as a separate element, while the stairwell separates the façade vertically to the south. Satisfactory access to daylight (Vinkelbygget has a maximum width of 25 meters) is solved by having glass surfaces make up 18.5% of the total heated building area. The building has its own energy plant with thermal energy wells for storage of heating and cooling. Geothermal heating pumps are used entirely for heating the building and for cooling technical installations. Exterior, automatic screening helps to reduce the cooling requirements during the summer. An energy-saving lighting system is controlled by sensors that detect motion and daylight. This is the first building with Energy Grade A and Heating Grade Green.
