Flesland's business park - The Hub

The business park is within walking distance of Bergen Airport, Flesland.

Three architectural offices were invited to submit proposals for a central strategy for the site. To create a varied architecture, all three offices were chosen to work together in developing the site.

LINK’s competition proposal, “The Hub”, is an efficient plan offering great flexibility in the development of the site. It is based on the sites local identity, emphasizing nature and fauna of Western Norway as its cornerstone concept. Fragments of Norwegian nature, façades with lots of glass bringing a sense of nature well into the buildings. The rhythm, colours, materials and play of the façade will form part of the landscape.

The benefits of a large business park is that more companies are located in close proximity with each other. Emphasis is placed on adaption to a new airport terminal and the Norwegian aviation authority’s master plan for the development of the airport. With the right planning, this area could become a unique hub in Western Norway and a showcase for Norwegian entrepreneurship, culture and natural and environmental technology.
